Summer is winding down, and with it goes those long hot lazy days in the sun. Fall doesn’t have to mean the end of your hot swimsuit style. Here are a few ideas on how to keep it hot, right into fall.

Bikinis are always hot, even as the weather cools. A bikini top with underwire is extra flattering if you're smaller. Some underwire bikinis also have the added bonus of padding. We love options, and in most tops, the padding can be removed.

Speaking of options, bikini tops come in many forms, and one of our favorites is the bandeau. If you aren’t sure exactly what a bandeau top is, it is similar to a strapless bra that goes straight across your bust. Because they are so similar to a strapless bra, they are great under a sheer button-down shirt or even a backless dress.

While there’s still some time to show a little skin, check out the uber-trendy suits with cut-outs. The cool thing about cutouts is that you can choose the area of your body that you’d like to draw your attention to. If you don’t go all out, peek-a-boo cut-outs with mesh panels are a nice way to dip your toe in the pool water. There’s also the option of beige paneling inside the cut-out, to make it appear that you’re daring, even if you aren’t quite feeling it.

This time of year is perfect for a crop-top swimsuit. Not only are they great for those of you who are active little bumblebees, (Yes, some of us do prefer the umbrella drink over water sports.), they stay in place, and still look sexy. When the beach Olympics are over, you can slide on a pair of linen pants, or your favorite jeans, and be ready for some after-dark adventure.

Rash guards are widely overlooked as a multi-purpose garment. Yes, they are excellent for surfing, but they are also great for providing extra UV protection, keeping you warm in cooler temperatures, and most importantly, you can wear them on and off the beach! (We do like our options.) Rash guards come in long and short sleeves, and both work great with your favorite cut-offs, or a pair of board shorts.

Cooler weather doesn’t happen and you can still heat things up. Get as much time in those swimsuits as you can, because looking hot is always cool.
